I have some really exciting news to share today….No the baby didn’t come early…at this stage of the game it might be more scary than exciting to have the baby now….
….remember when I was reminiscing about a few of my goals for this year….how I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and maybe share a few recipes….and sorry this isn’t a recipe post either….haha
One of my other goals was to take on a big project….eekkk!
Today I would like to introduce you to our biggest project to date here at Hawthorne and Main…
….drum roll please….we have decided to add an addition onto the house. It will be a guest house/rental…even though I am pretty sure when we are done, I will want to use it as my own personal studio…
A girl can dream…
We are taking on this beast DIY style and I cannot wait to share with you all of the ups and downs in the DIY constructions.
The Name…..
I struggled and struggled with coming up with a name. I wanted something that had meaning. The property itself is surrounded by 4 giant pecan trees. Every year we harvest them and it is just a wonderful thing. From the beginning I was playing around with using the word PECAN in the name, but couldn’t get it to come together. My sister-in-law threw out SUITE and it seemed like a great match.
The Suite Pecan….will be a pretty little suite that will be equipped with a full kitchen, bathroom, living area and bedroom. I think Suite is a good word because it will be small. I am hoping to get a floor plan up so you can get a better idea of the size.
We actually started on this project last year, late summer, but due to the holidays and cooler weather we have not had a chance to work on it much. On ya, and I got pregnant during all that too…..
The weather here is starting to get nice again so we are back at it.
I hope will join me in this adventure- The Suite Pecan.
