Gosh it seems like a long time since I shared my mantel with you. Today I want to show you my Spring Mantel for this year!!
I picked up these old windows from the family farm last year. These babies are the real deal, old. I love that the paint on them is original. I did not do anything to them, other than clean them off.
I originally tried to use a wet paper towel to wipe them down and clean them.
It was not working. At all.
The paper towel was getting snagged on the rough paint and wood pieces. I ended up putting them right in the shower and hosing them off. Our shower head has one of those long hose attachments, it worked wonderfully.
You might have noticed that long black cord hanging down from the ceiling….
Well, that is our internet cord. The story about how it got there is a good one and I plan on sharing it will you soon.
I thought about editing the cord out of the pictures. But, I decided to keep it real and leave it there.
I do plan on concealing it somehow so be on the look out for that too!!
The frames that I added this year were supposed to be part of my gallery wall, which you can see over here. I ended up doing something else which means these were free game.
I am very pleased with my mantel!! Plus, I am so excited that spring is finally here!! What do you think of my spring mantel? Let me know what you think in the comments below!!

I love the old windows with the banner. Thanks for including how to clean them. I have an old filthy window I picked up from a flea market that I have yet to use, I'll try the shower idea. Also love that you kept it real with the cord in the pictures.
The cleaning process came out of desperation. Once I realized that it would probably take an entire roll of paper towels to clean them I thought what the heck, "try the shower" Luckily they didn't fall apart. I hope to figure out a way to get rid of that cord soon!!
