Hey everyone!!
I just wanted to pop in and let you know about a few things that have been happening over here. Well, the first big change is that I decided to go blond. Mr. Main has been asking me for years if I would bleach my hair.
The conversation usually ended with me throwing my hands up in the air saying,
“Eh, its not for me, I’m a brunette!”
One day I literally woke up and said to myself “ok, I guess I will give it a try” maybe you have heard me say that before 🙂
So I went on a little trip to my parents house and had a girl there give me some high lights.
We came home and Mr. Main was surprised and happy that I had gone blond. If you know me at all then you might have gathered that I really don’t do things half way. It’s almost always all or nothing.
I wasn’t satisfied with just highlights, I wanted to go platinum. dun…dun…dun… (in a deep descending voice)
If you also know me, then you might know that I am super duper cheap. I paid the first and only person to do anything to my hair, besides a hair cut, $50 to highlight it.
Which, I did feel was a good price, she is in a very small town and can’t charge like they do in Hollywood….! haha
Since I am cheap I wanted to see if I could achieve the beautiful blond color I so desired on my own…. I asked my trusty friend YouTube for help because everything on there is right…. right?
I found what seemed the most reliable video and went for it. After three days and bleaching my entire head like 3 or 4 times, I can’t remember how many now, it was finished.
I do have to say that there were times of serious doubt. Like the second time I bleached it and it totally turned orange.
I said to myself “I am DONE.”
I knew I was doomed to spend the rest of my life with orange hair. But, I prevailed and luckily, it worked out.
So you might be wondering if these pictures really are the same person. I assure it is just little old me!! My family and friends have looked at me and didn’t even recognize me so it will take time. For a while I would catch my reflexion in a mirror and have to take a second look myself. haha
At the beginning of this post I told you there were a few things happening over here. The next big thing is that I have been having a really big response about my Barn Wood Jewelry Holders. Because of this I have decided to offer a few for purchase, if you would like.
Be on the lookout for further details!!! Shoot me an email if you for sure want one. I will put you on the list since I will only be able to make a few of them. It’s not like barn wood grows on trees, haha.
The last thing is that Hawthorne & Main is finally getting the makeover she deserves. I look back on my futile attempts to make her pretty and it just wasn’t happening. So I have decided it is time to make the switch over to WordPress. I think you guys will like the layout and ease-ability much better. I am still working on getting it set up but next week is our official launch. Please bare with us and we work out all of the inevitable kinks!

Break away from the mentality that certain ethnic groups or communities are more likely to spread or contract COVID-19. Instead, remind yourself that people all over the world have come down with the illness.
