You may remember a while back I showed you my DIY Book Caddy. It has been getting so much use at our house. After I got done with the DIY book caddy I thought it would be fun to make a quick DIY reading nook.
That way we would have a cute and comfy place to read.
This is the before picture. Our reading nook is going to be located right behind the rocking chair. The rocking chair will be moved over to the right a little bit.
The first must have for a reading nook is a soft place to sit. I rummaged around my house and found this comfy rug that was currently not being used.
The second must have for a reading nook is comfy pillows, are you seeing a trend here?
It needs to be comfy.
I decided to pick up some bigger pillows because they are COMFY of course, but also because I wanted to have good back support when I was sitting on the ground. I also liked the bigger pillows because it adds visual height to the area.
I chose to go with 4 pillows because I felt like it fit the space well. I think the pink silky pillow is my favorite!
It is so funny to see my little girl grab my hand and lead me over to our new reading nook to read books. She gets so excited when we sit down on the ever so soft rug. I think we will be spending a lot of time right here.
