The weather is warming up
out there!!
Ok, let’s be honest, it’s HOT!
But, no matter the season it’s always important to stay hydrated!!
throughout the day?
Personally, I go through times of ups and downs
with my water intake.
Lately I have been trying to figure out ways to drink more water without drinking too much juice or other high calorie sugary drinks.
Let me show you some of my favorite flavored water ideas!
Let’s get started with the supplies you will need:
Fruit
herbs
2 quart glass pitcher or jars
wooden spoon
water
wire strainer -optional
In my opinion it doesn’t really matter too much if you decide to go with fresh or frozen fruit. If it’s in season and a good price I will go with fresh. If it is out of season then I almost always opt for frozen. Out of season fresh fruits can be less flavorful so that something to think about.
Option #2
Add fruit to bottom of jar. Press fruit and herbs gently with a wood spoon add ice and water and refrigerate.
Option #3
Add fruit to bottom of jar. Press fruit and herbs gently with a wood spoon add water, refrigerate.
How long will it last?
You can enjoy your water immediately after making it, or if you choose, you can chill it first.
It is best to use the water within 2-3 days, though.
Don’t want to eat the fruit/herb bits?
If you want to enjoy your fresh tasting flavored water without the fruit bits use one of these strainers to strain out the fruit as you pour it into your glass.
Adding sugar??!!
If you have a sweet tooth then feel free to add a little bit of honey of agave syrup. It is sure to be less sugar than what is in juice or soda pop.
There are so many different ways to make flavored water! The possibilities seem endless.
