Hello everyone! Can you believe how fast time is zipping by!? I wake up each morning and I give myself a pep talk about all the amazing things that I am going to get done that day….. sometimes if I am really on top of it I will write them down. I get out of bed and…..
Then life happens…..
Last week we were so hot. Like the weather here is about 10-15 degrees hotter this year than normal. And normally it is really hot here anyway!! I went to the store and picked up one of those blue kiddie pools, you know the ones. Miss A was so excited! We brought it home and I filled it up with water, she jumped in. My plan was to sit poolside and work while she played. Perfect plan, right!
Everything was going smoothly until I noticed that the pool was no longer crystal clear…. it was murky.
After a quick inspection I realized that I had only put a swim suit on Miss A, without a swim diaper. Subsequently she pooped in her swimsuit. Which basically means that she pooped in the pool…..
My plan of working came to a screeching halt as a quick shower was definitely needed as well as a total scrub down of the new pool!
I think my days usually end up go something like this. All I can do is laugh because getting mad surly won’t make the situation better. In a way I want to hold on to these times. Yes, they are tough but in a way I think about the future and the tougher days that are sure to come, friends, issues with friends, school, helping with homework that I am sure will be hard for me, boys, ooohhh boys….yikes! These times are slipping thought my fingers and I don’t want to miss a moment of them.
Almost every night I reflect on the day and think about all the things I could’a, should’a, and would’a liked to do……
But, spending time with my little toddler sized Miss A isn’t going to last forever. She won’t always come up to me and grab my cheeks, one in each of her small chubby hands while looking me in the eyes to say “watch me momma!” or “you’re cute!” And so I try not to think about all those things I wish I could have got done and remember all of the fun memories my little and I are making together….
