I finally did it…with a lot of convincing…..a lot of pleading…..and pretty much just saying to Mr. Main “This is what I am going to do……” I painted our red spaghetti sauce brick white!!!
I cannot even tell you how much more open and bright this room feels. I plan on doing an entire reveal soon. Let me first show you the shelves though. If you remember way back in the day……
When I got featured at Apartment Therapy….say what…..!! It was right after after I started blogging and I felt like wow! This is so cool!
I did a quick makeover on this same bookshelf. If you want to truly appreciate the after on these shelves. You need to check out the before!!
These shelves are to say the least…..awkward….. They are recessed….they don’t go floor to ceiling…. they are just different…But I guess when you buy a house that is older than my parents then you have to just say whatever….. and make it the best that you can! With the fresh coat of paint these shelves almost feel good!!
I have really been drawn to industrial metal and other decor lately. I picked up these galvanized steel baskets and I just love the way the silver looks next to the white!!
I am a big sucker for decorating with green. My boxwood wreath is pretty much a staple decor piece for me and again looking at it against the white makes me smile, ear to ear!!
It looks SO beautiful! I love it!
Such a perfect space and your styling is impeccable! I also love the pillows and throw down below for added softness. Lovely! 🙂
That looks so great! I am excited to see the whole room now!
What a transformation! I love it. The white brick really does open up the room, and I love how you decorated your shelving. Lovely. Awesome bookshelf you have make and its better idea to arrange book in shelf and its unique and stylish.
Thank you so much! I love having a bright clean look to them since they got painted. So much better!!
Wow! What a difference! I looked at the before….the changes you made originally to paint the brick one solid color and change the moldings, excellent, but by far the white is awesome!!
Great job.
